FAQs
The eego™ mylab EEG system is designed for advanced neuroscience and neurophysiology research. It supports high-quality EEG recording for cognitive neuroscience, ERP studies, brain-computer interface (BCI) research, sleep research, epilepsy research, source localisation, connectivity analysis, and multimodal experiments involving TMS, fMRI, MEG, eye tracking, and other physiological measurements.
The eego mylab EEG system combines high-density EEG recording (32–256 channels), sampling rates up to 16,384 Hz, up to 24-bit resolution, input impedance greater than 1 GΩ, active shielding technology, and high common-mode rejection (CMRR). These specifications provide high signal quality for ERP studies, oscillatory analysis, source localisation, connectivity analysis, and other demanding neuroscience research applications.
Yes. The eego mylab EEG system features a modular architecture that can be expanded from 32 channels to 256 EEG channels. Additional amplifiers, bipolar channels, and auxiliary sensor inputs can be added as research requirements evolve, allowing laboratories to scale their EEG system over time.
The appropriate number of EEG channels depends on your research goals.
- 32–64 channels: Typically sufficient for ERP studies, cognitive neuroscience, and standard EEG research.
- 128 channels: Provide improved spatial resolution for source localisation and functional connectivity analyses.
- 256 channels: Recommended for ultra-high-density EEG studies requiring maximum spatial resolution and advanced source modelling.
The modular design of the eego mylab EEG system allows laboratories to expand channel count as research needs change.
Yes. The eego mylab EEG system is suitable for both laboratory and mobile EEG research. The amplifier weighs 600 g, measures 206 × 157 × 25 mm, and includes an integrated battery that provides up to 5 hours of operation. For long-term monitoring, runtime can be extended using the integrated USB-C power connection, which draws power from the recording device's battery (PC or laptop).
Typical setup time depends on the electrode configuration:
- 15–20 minutes: Using waveguard™ touch dry electrodes or waveguard™ net saline-based caps.
- 30–45 minutes: For most standard gel-based EEG recordings.
- 30–60 minutes: For high-density recordings with 128–256 gel-based electrodes.
The system includes colour-coded connectors, plug-and-play hardware, and intuitive software to simplify preparation.
The eego mylab EEG amplifier measures 206 × 157 × 25 mm and weighs 600 grams, making it suitable for both stationary laboratory research and portable EEG applications.
The eego™ mylab EEG system supports configurations from 32 to 256 EEG channels, plus 24 bipolar ExG channels for additional physiological signals. This flexibility allows researchers to configure the system for both routine EEG experiments and high-density neuroscience studies.
The eego mylab EEG system records EEG data at sampling rates up to 16,384 Hz (16 kHz) across all referential channels while maintaining up to 24-bit resolution.
This high sampling rate enables accurate recording of fast neural activity, precise ERP timing, high-frequency oscillations, and rapid external artefacts such as TMS pulses and MRI gradient artefacts, supporting reliable artefact removal in multimodal neuroscience research.
The eego mylab EEG system incorporates ANT Neuro's active shielding technology to reduce environmental electrical interference and movement-related artefacts. Active shielding improves EEG signal quality in challenging recording environments, including hospitals, MRI facilities, electrically noisy laboratories, and mobile EEG studies.
In addition to up to 256 EEG channels, the eego mylab EEG system supports 24 bipolar ExG inputs for recording physiological signals, including EMG, EOG, ECG, respiration, galvanic skin response (GSR), accelerometer data, temperature, SpO₂, and dedicated polysomnography (PSG) sensors.
Yes. The eego mylab EEG system integrates with a wide range of neuroscience research technologies. It supports simultaneous EEG recording with TMS, fMRI, and MEG when used with compatible waveguard™ caps. The system includes an 8-bit TTL trigger interface, Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) support, and real-time access through the eego Data Interface (EDI), enabling synchronisation with stimulus presentation software, eye trackers, motion capture systems, and other external devices.
The eego mylab EEG system is a CE-marked medical device (Class IIa) under MDR (EU) 2017/745.
