Trial Classification Calculation of an ERP waveform requires a response dependent trial selection to mark incorrectly answered trials, and a signal dependent trial selection to mark the disturbed trials. This selection can be achieved in eeprobe using various algorithms, e.g., taking into account reaction time, valid/invalid responses. Artifact detection can be performed both manually and automatically, inspecting the data trial-wise or continuous. The automatic procedure uses signal thresholds like min/max amplitude, but can also inspect the signal using more advanced statistical properties (standard deviation). |
Averaging This step uses the signal, classification and rejection lists from the previous steps to calculate the ERP's by averaging the signal of all good trials. The procedure allows combinations of triggers, assigning different codes, and performs the (single subject) EOG correction if desired. |
Average viewer The average viewer can show differerent configurations and combine viewing traces with displaying maps. Using the signal inspector of eeprobe peaks can be scored in the average. | ![]() |
Reporting Reports are an efficient way to present different results together in a comprehensive way. They can be used to inspect data quickly and in case of the example shown right provide insight in the evolution of the P3 component during the recording. |
Databrowser The databrowser of eeprobe allows you to store the data in "experiments" and related "subjects". Using this kind of setup you will be able to perform data analysis quickly. Data from multiple subjects can be selected easily and added to the active workset. Following this, all data in the workset is analyzed simultaneously. This means that filtering data of 10 subjects is as easy as filtering the data of one subject - only with eeprobe is 10 times faster! |
Organize, Analyze, Computerize eeprobe is a suite of more than 50 programs, each optimized for a specific procedure. The eeprobe databrowser integrates all functionality and helps to keep the data organized. As easy as it is to analyze one continuous data file and come to the corresponding ERP waveforms, it is very easy to repeat the procedures for several files. Most of the analysis methods can be included very easy in a script that is generated automatically from within the Databrowser. Also Grand averaging can be performed on a large set of average files with just a few mouse clicks. The Databrowser automatically analyzes the input data for available conditions, and sets the most used defaults for immediate calculation of grand average data. |
Powerful script processing eeprobe was designed for batch processing; this can even be used for automatic report generation. For instance, scripts can be used for conversion of data to the correct sampling frequency, rename channels, automatically detect peak/latency values, or create output graphics of average waveforms. All parameters related to the processing are saved in configuration files, which make it easy to reproduce any analysis procedure. Scripts are accessible from within the eeprobe databrowser. |
