 Cleaning a WaveGuard cap

Washing
We recommend rinsing the cap with lukewarm water immediately after use. You can do this at a regular sink; best is to use a showerhead attached to the faucet. Hold the cap inside-out with one hand, and with a firm spray, rinse the gel out of the electrode cups.

The best way to cleaning the electrodes is to use an oral douche machine such as available for dental cleaning, e.g., an electrical tooth brush. The focused water spray is perfect for getting out the gel, and completely cleaning the electrode elements.

Please also rinse clean the cap fabric! Your next subject will appreciate a clean head cap! It is not needed to wash the cap with soap each time, but if you do, please use a non-detergent, non- perfumed, soft soap. When cleaning the cap, hold the cable and high-density connectors away from the water. Please prevent any wet or moist near the connectors, in order to completely prevent possible short-circuits or corrosion.

In the event that you need to clean the connectors, use a cotton stick slightly damp with alcohol.

Drying
The cap has to be completely dry before you use it on another subject. Do not use a hair dryer to dry the cap, the hot air will cause the fabric to wear quicker! A solution to shorter drying time is to use a cooling fan with a fence, over which you can hang the cap. In the cool air stream, the drying is quick and safe for the fabric.
