 ASA Experiment Manager
The ASA 4 Experiment Manager is a versatile MS-Excel based tool for automated visualisation and analysis of large experimental data. The Experiment Manager allows you to set up an experiment, to launch the ERP recording per subject (or import from a file structure), to load and to review data by navigating through the experiment tree. After importing or recording, actions such as filtering, averaging, automated peak scoring and other ERP processing can be defined and carried out - either on a selection wihin the experiment tree or on the whole experiment. Likewise, MRI processing such as segmentation and head modeling, can be simplified and automated by applying predefined actions with customizable defaults.

The ASA 4 Experiment Manager is a novelty in the ERP experimental analysis and greatly extends the possibilities of ASA-Lab.

Setting up your experiment
Loading data for a certain subject or condition becomes as simple as clicking at a node in the experiment tree. ASA imports and displays the data as configured in the Experiment Manager, including EEG/MEG, the sensors, head model, MRI and source reconstruction results. The effect of time-saving is immense, as no file names need to be specified and the complete configuration with all actions as executed is stored.

Experiment tree
The ASA 4 Experiment Manager is opened from Excel and displays the experiments as defined by the user. In this example, the experiment tree shows the data after filtering for subject ayad, first run of a P300 experiment. To the right, the specific file information is displayed. ASA loaded the data automatically.

Automated peak scoring
After averaging and setting markers in the respective conditions, automatic peak scoring is applied. The method is listed in the set of available functions with its description and parameters. It is added to the experiment tree and can be activated by clicking at a node within.

Global field power (RMS)
Another way of signal analysis is the calculation of the Global Field Power per condition. When the RMS feature is applied, the signals are loaded by ASA and then processed in the Experiment Manager so that a graphics as shown above can be created.

Stastistical analysis
When applying peak scoring to an average by simply clicking at the subject's node, a second worksheet is displayed which provides the peak information as requested. The data contain mean and peak amplitudes as well as latency information and can be stored in various formats.
