 ANT Newsletter - December 2011
We gladly present you the latest issue of ANT Newsletter. It includes some of the most recent developments within ANT. We are very proud of the new solution for Mobile EEG; an exciting development which answers recent trends and prepares for the future of EEG.

Another great addition to our products that we hope will draw your curiosity is TouchSense.

In the newsletter you will also find an interesting tutorial about patient selection for further, advanced analysis in Cognitrace. And as last but not least we would like to bring under attention our annual Burgundy Neuromeeting which is quickly approaching.

We would like to thank you for your interest and support of ANT in 2011 and are looking forward to our cooperation in 2012!

We wish you a prosperous and joyful New Year!

Mobile EEG System by ANT
Cognitive experiments in the last decades mostly took place in indoor lab environments. Subjects are placed in front of a computer and instructed to minimize body movements during the EEG measurement. In the next years, many of these experiments will move from the traditional lab to situations where the mobility of subjects is a major requirement.

Professor Mike d`Zmura from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) made the step from indoor lab measurements to outdoor experiments. ANT developed a solution for him and his collaborators that increased the mobility of the subjects extremely.

The Latest Addition to SmartMove: TouchSense
TouchSense, a new sensor attached to the robot arm is through manual movement manipulation allowing you to position a coil very easily in a direction you would like without the need to control it remotely.

The newest addition contributes also to the safety of the SmartMove system. The TouchSense continuously monitors the force applied to the coil and the distance between the patient`s head and the coils, and responds accordingly. When a patient`s head is considered too close to a coil the robot will automatically adjust the position.

Tutorial: Advanced Patient Selection in Cognitrace
The Cognitrace Patient Database offers advanced filtering functionality to users, making quick selections on large numbers of patients and recordings very easy. In combination with the data export feature, Cognitrace provides a powerful first step in group studies on clinical ERP data.

The tutorial describes how to apply these features in Cognitrace 4. We demonstrate how to use this feature by making a selection on specific patients and recordings. The selection of data is then exported to a folder, where it may be used in further studies in ASA`s Experiment Manager or third party applications.
