ANT application workshop, Sept 21-22, 2006, Milan

We have the pleasure to invite you to the: ANT Application Workshop held in Milan, Italy on 21 and 22 September.

Organized by the IBFM Institute and ANT.

It is now ten years ago that ANT was established as a spin-off company at the campus of Twente University in Enschede, Netherlands. Starting with the Advanced Source Analysis (ASA) software for MEG as an outcome of four years of PhD work, ANT has in the decade of its existence become a major supplier for neurodiagnostics and cognitive neuroscience. It has communications with hundreds of users world-wide and is involved in numerous research/development and collaboration projects.

To celebrate this great achievement ANT has prospered the ANT Young Scientist Award. The winner of this award will receive 10.000,00 EUR and a 20% discount on all products of ANT and will be presented at this workshop. The workshop will be held in Milan, Italy at the Institute of Molecular Bioimaging and Physiology in Segrate (MI). In this workshop we would like to give you a first hands-on experience on all products ANT represents world wide, carry out studies on example data in small groups, and discuss your own data with other experienced users and developers of ANT.

Special thanks go out to Dr. Aberto Zani who has made it possible to arrange a computer lab for all participants where studies can be followed and data can be presented.

Info on the institute and research of Dr. Zani and Dr. Mado-Proverbio:

Electrophysiological imaging of visuo-cognitive functions

The research conducted within the Lab focuses on the investigation of visuo-cognitive functions of the human brain carried out by means of the combined recording of reaction times, or other indexes of behavioral performance, and the event-related potentials (ERPs) of the brain with high-density electrode montages. The functionality of brain systems responsible for vision, visual perception, and visual selective information processing, as well as for the comprehension and representation of written language in mono- and multi-linguals, is investigated in the light of current theoretical models of cognitive neurosciences.

A very good preparation for the workshop is the book

Zani A & Proverbio AM. (Eds). The Cognitive Electrophysiology of Mind and Brain. (Foreword by Prof. Michael I. Posner), 2002. New York: Academic Press.

book reference on Amazon

ANT recommends this excellent reference work for anyone who is seriously involved in ERP research.

Furthermore, as an affordable and good introduction on ERP signal analysis ANT recommends the following reference book:

"An Introduction to the Event-Related Potential Technique"
by Steven J. Luck

(2005, MIT Press, Cambridge, Massachusetts)

book reference

During the workshop, participants can purchase this book at the discount price of € 25,- EUR.
