Signal Analysis and Transformation & Source Reconstruction

- New feature s(w)LORETA in frequency domain: Analysis of s(w)LORETA source localization in frequency domain.
- FFT averaging over events: Time intervals relating to events can be averaged in FFT domain. Trigger codes and conditions result in one FFT average per trigger code/condition. Grand averaging is now also available for FFT averages.
- Improved EOG Correction: ICA and PCA methods can be used for the correction of ocular artefacts.
- New TMS Artefact Correction: feature TMS artefacts are detected and corrected by using a regression method.
- New Difference feature: Differences of EEG/MEG, FFT and Wavelet data items can be calculated and saved in a separate data file.
- New parameter for Wavelet Analysis: Parameter "Number of Cycles" allows a more precise specification of the resolution in time and frequency domain.
- Source Localization features provide option "Generalized Cross Validation": This additional option uses the EEG/MEG data for regularization instead of using a general signal-to-noise ratio.
- New feature Sensor Manipulation: Feature provides automatic and manual options for adapting sensor positions to head model shape.
- New feature to rearrange 3D images: Feature creates from an image an isotropic image with equal pixel distances in all 3 dimensions.
- New feature to create surface for curvilinear reformatting: Feature creates a set of boundaries from a head model to be used for curvilinear reformatting of 3D images
- New features to read and write 3D image markers: Feature exports and imports positions of 3D image markers to ASCII file.


View

- Major improvements in 3D Image view (MRI view): Cutting planes can be freely moved and rotated.
- Current frequency in 3D frequency view: Scrolling through frequencies is possible in 3D frequency view. Specifying a certain frequency is also possible by clicking into the spectrum view.
- Improved current latency display options: EEG and EEG average view offer advanced display options for the current frequency.
- Wavelet display in EEG view: EEG view allows the display of the single components of the wavelet transformation results.
- Wavelet display in 3D mapping: 3D Voltage view allows the display of the single components of the wavelet transformation results.
- Improved 2D layouts: Added 2D positions for sensors allow improved EEG/MEG and spectrum data in 2D layout.

- Import of headshape points: Headshape points can be read with the menu option Data / Electrodes (file types BESA and Neuroscan).
- Neuromag .fiff files: Support of 32 bit integer data. Headshape points and head coils are imported together with the MEG/EEG data. Trigger codes are now encoded as binary code. FFT MEG 3D mapping is working again for magnetometer only montage and for gradiometer montages containing one sensor per sensor location.
- CTF MEG data: ASA reads now also v 5.0 MEG data files
- New control to select data items in views: Tree control allows now to select single components of the Wavelet transformation in views.
- New script examples: New script examples are added to evaluate reaction times and to perform peak scoring

ASA 4.1.0.0
This version allows upgrading your existing ASA-Lab towards synchronized video-EEG. Another new feature creates epoch events from a channel applying thresholds, e.g. from an EMG channel. The MRI view has been improved; it can show multiple slices of the same orientation with adjustable number of slices and distance. A full-screen mode is available for ASA. Several bugs (e.g. performance of export with average reference, computation of standard deviation in averaging, montage editor and others) have been corrected.
